five points, myrtle beach, south carolina.

This project was inspired during a summer internship in Myrtle Beach. To make enough money to afford living there, I picked up a part time bartending position right beside this stretch of land that used to be known as the Pavilion. Seeing it 3 times a week, I became familiar with the site and would often daydream about what the empty land could be. Fast forward 6 months and I would select it for a student project.

During your senior year at West Virginia University as a landscape architecture student you’re responsible for forming a team, selecting a project, and creating an entire conceptual package. Throughout the semester, Nora (my project partner) and I presented to the college’s staff and was provided helpful, sometimes painful, criticisms on a number of occasions. It’s a rigorous process that leaves you absolutely exhausted by the end of the semester, but I have this great work that I can say I’m proud of.
