Cougar Point Clubhouse

Cougar Point Golf Course ranks as one of the top golf courses in South Carolina. The golf course was redesigned by Gary Player in 1996.

The parking lots are nestled into the landscape, moving their way around the large existing Live Oaks. As visitors arrive, an entry courtyard marks the approach to the building. The cupola is flanked by architectural trees that frame the view of the main facade. During construction, several large trees were transplanted, including 40’ tall Live Oaks.

At the southern facing side, long porches extend the entire building to compliment the 18th green. The lawn terrace creates a clean visual transition from golf course to clubhouse, providing visitors an overlook of the action.

As a DesignWorks employee, I participated in the design, construction documentation, and construction administration for this project.
